Slab Leaks

Slab Leak Detection & Repair in Fort Worth, TX
Minimally Invasive. Advanced Tools. Trusted Since 1983
Slab leaks can cause significant hidden damage beneath your foundation long before visible symptoms appear. By the time warning signs like floor cracks or unusually high water bills show up, structural issues may already be developing. At Master Repair Plumbing, we bring over 40 years of practical plumbing experience to residential and commercial properties across Fort Worth, North Richland Hills, Haltom City, and nearby communities.
We rely on modern, non-invasive techniques and advanced equipment to locate and repair slab leaks with minimal disruption to your property. Our efficient methods help reduce unnecessary demolition and prevent inflated repair costs.
Many homes and businesses in Fort Worth are built on clay-heavy soil that expands and contracts with seasonal changes. This natural movement can place stress on underground plumbing, increasing the risk of slab leaks. Our team understands how these regional soil conditions affect foundations and applies specialized detection strategies suited for North Texas properties. If you notice sudden drops in water pressure or unexplained moisture on flooring, we adjust our approach based on the specific conditions of your home.
Our Slab Leak Repair Process
Every property is different, but our process is designed around accuracy, cleanliness, and restoring your peace of mind.
Here’s how we typically handle slab leaks:
- Leak detection. We use acoustic sensors and electronic tracking tools to locate leaks beneath concrete surfaces without unnecessary damage. This allows us to precisely identify the problem area before any work begins.
- Repair planning. Once the source is confirmed, we explain your repair options in detail—such as spot repairs, pipe rerouting, or partial repiping—so you can choose the most suitable solution for your situation and budget.
- Targeted repairs. We carry out repairs using the least disruptive method possible. Whether the issue is under a slab or behind a wall, we focus on minimizing impact to your living space.
- Post-repair cleanup and support. After completing the work, we thoroughly clean the area, inspect the repair, and provide service warranty coverage for added assurance.
We also use additional diagnostic methods such as pressure testing and video inspection to accurately locate issues and avoid unnecessary cutting into floors or driveways. Our approach follows Fort Worth building codes and local regulations to ensure every repair meets required standards. When comparing service providers, it’s important to ask about the tools and methods used—advanced diagnostics often mean faster, cleaner, and more cost-effective repairs.
What Is a Slab Leak & Why It Matters
A slab leak occurs when water lines beneath a building’s foundation crack, corrode, or burst. This can be caused by shifting soil, aging plumbing, high water pressure, or improper installation during construction.
Here are some common problems that may develop if you ignore a slab leak:
- Cracked flooring or drywall
- Mold or mildew beneath surfaces
- Rising water bills
- Foundation instability
- Reduced water pressure
Warning signs such as warm floor spots, damp areas near the foundation, or unexplained utility spikes should be taken seriously and inspected promptly.
In Fort Worth, slab leaks are especially common due to clay-rich soil conditions in areas across Tarrant County. Seasonal expansion and contraction place constant stress on underground pipes. Many older homes also still rely on aging copper or original supply lines that are more prone to corrosion and shifting. Addressing these conditions early helps prevent costly foundation repairs and extensive water damage.

"I just took a nice long shower in our bathroom that recently had a stopped sewer line, and wanted to thank Mike at Master Repair for his hard work. Fortunately, he was able to come out the same day we called! The stoppage ended up being 100' from the city sewer cleanout, and it took some back and forth with a camera and cable to clear it. But Mike was tenacious and patient. Plus, he was such a nice guy! He even gave us an estimate for the sewer line replacement we'll need eventually (old clay pipe + tree roots, sigh). He says he doesn't read these, but I hope someone else in the office passes the message along."

" Quick & Competent! When my home insurance adjuster learned I used Master he replied 'Oh! Master Plumbing! Did someone refer you? They are the best around and who I use personally at my own home.' That spoke volumes to me and it's good to now have a plumber on my list of trusted service companies. "

"We called Master Repair out to fix a leak we had in the wall between our house and our outside faucet. They let us know when they were coming and they showed up 15 minutes early. They were very professional and explained each step they went through. They left to get a part but came back quickly and our repair was done in two hours. I was very pleased that they cleaned up the area and except for the water you couldn't even tell they had been there. The price was extremely affordable and I have called them to return and take care of a smaller problem inside. I would highly recommend them for their professionalism and cost."

" Chad from Master Repair Plumbing is the man. I had another plumbing company come out to take a look at a leak that was coming out of the exterior of my house below the kitchen sink between the slab and the bricks. This company said it was a leak in the slab and quoted me $10k to jackhammer through and make the repair after charging me a super expensive diagnosis fee. My insurance thought that quote was high for that job so they connected me to Master Repair Plumbing for a second opinion. Chad came out and quickly diagnosed that the problem was a leak *above* the slab and made the repair on the spot for the same amount as the first company's diagnosis fee(which was entirely coincidental). He also told me that if I did actually have the leak in the slab where the first company thought it was, Master Repair Plumbing would've charged less than HALF of what the first company was going to charge. I asked the first company for a refund and they wanted to send their people back out again because they had a hard time believing the fix was that simple. So I scheduled Chad specifically to come out at the same time they were coming out to have everyone on the same page. Chad performed a static water test in front of the other company at my house, explained how he found the problem, and proved how they had misdiagnosed the problem which ultimately saved me thousands. The other company admitted their error and I'm getting a refund for their expensive misdiagnosis fee. If you have a slab leak, want someone to explain in detail what they're seeing, show you, prove it with a static water test, AND not be afraid to come out again to back up their work in front of another company, give your business to Master Repair Plumbing. They are honest and won't gouge you. "
