Targeted Leak Detection with a Local Touch — Call Master Repair Plumbing Today

Leaks often start out of sight, quietly causing damage before you even realize there is a problem. Since 1983, Master Repair Plumbing has specialized in identifying and repairing hidden leaks in homes and businesses throughout Fort Worth. From slab leaks to pipe issues behind walls, we use modern tools alongside decades of experience to resolve problems with minimal disruption to your property.

Proudly serving Fort Worth, North Richland Hills, Haltom City, and the surrounding Greater Fort Worth region, our team is ready to detect and resolve leaks before they escalate into costly repairs.

When we arrive, we begin by understanding what you have observed—whether it is rising water bills, damp areas, or unusual sounds. From there, we inspect accessible plumbing, assess the property, and review any previous plumbing or foundation work that could be related. This structured process allows us to quickly narrow down the source of the issue, ensuring our testing is precise rather than based on guesswork. We also keep you informed at every step, explaining what we are doing and what to expect throughout the visit.

In many Fort Worth properties—especially slab-on-grade homes and older neighborhoods with established trees—minor leaks can form in underground lines or beneath concrete where they remain hidden. We take into account plumbing age, soil conditions, and any past structural movement when planning our diagnostics. By combining your observations with our on-site findings, we determine the most effective noninvasive testing methods before considering any intrusive work. This careful planning helps keep repairs focused and prevents unnecessary damage to your home.

Do not let a small leak turn into a major issue. Call (817) 338-0000 today to schedule your leak inspection.

Leak Detection Technology & Why It Matters

Finding concealed leaks can be challenging, but we use advanced tools to locate problems while minimizing disruption.

  • Acoustic sensors. These devices are designed to detect the subtle sound of water escaping where it should not be—inside walls, beneath floors, or underground. By capturing these faint signals, we can accurately locate the leak without opening up surfaces, reducing mess and repair work.
  • Thermal imaging. Infrared cameras help identify temperature variations behind walls or under flooring. Since leaks often create hot or cold spots, this technology allows us to visually identify moisture even when it is hidden. It is a quick, noninvasive way to uncover issues early.
  • Pressure testing. When necessary, we isolate sections of your plumbing system and check for pressure loss. A drop in pressure is often a strong indicator of a hidden leak, making this a reliable method for early detection.

At Master Repair Plumbing, we use these tools strategically to locate leaks with accuracy while keeping disruption to a minimum. Our focus is always on delivering a smooth and efficient experience from start to finish.

Why Is Professional Leak Detection Important?

Working with a professional plumber for leak detection ensures:

  • Precise, nondestructive identification of leaks
  • Reduced risk of further water or structural damage
  • Lower repair costs over time
  • Protection of your home’s foundation and plumbing system

When you contact our team, we do more than confirm the presence of a leak—we identify its exact location so repairs can be accurate and long-lasting. Incorrect detection can lead to unnecessary damage, such as multiple openings in walls or flooring, extended downtime, and added restoration costs. By getting it right the first time, we help you avoid those complications. This is especially valuable in homes with finished interiors, custom features, or recent renovations where repairs can be more costly.

Professional testing also provides clear documentation of your plumbing condition. This can be useful when working with insurance providers or planning future upgrades. We explain our findings in straightforward terms and outline possible repair options—from temporary fixes to full replacements—so you can choose what fits your needs and budget. With the right information, what could feel overwhelming becomes a manageable process.

How Quickly Should a Leak Be Repaired?

Leaks should be addressed as soon as possible. Delaying repairs can result in mold growth, wood deterioration, and significant foundation damage. Contact Master Repair Plumbing for prompt and reliable leak repair services in Fort Worth, TX.

Even minor leaks can waste large amounts of water over time. In North Texas conditions, trapped moisture beneath floors or within walls can quickly lead to mold development. Once this occurs, repairs often extend beyond plumbing into structural and cosmetic work. Acting quickly helps contain the issue and prevents it from becoming a larger restoration project. It also protects your home’s foundation, particularly in areas with clay soil that expands and contracts with moisture changes.

When you reach out to us, we guide you on immediate steps to take—such as shutting off certain valves or limiting water use—until we arrive. We prioritize scheduling as quickly as possible to prevent ongoing damage. Our goal is to move you from uncertainty to a clear repair plan with minimal disruption, so you can return to normal use of your property.

What Should I Do if I Suspect a Leak?

If you think you may have a leak:

  • Shut off your main water supply
  • Monitor your water meter for unusual movement
  • Check visible pipes and connections
  • Contact Master Repair Plumbing for inspection and repair

If it is safe, you can also check around your property for subtle signs such as damp flooring, temperature differences on surfaces, standing water near the foundation, or unusually wet areas in the yard. Take note of any recent work—such as irrigation installations, foundation adjustments, or remodeling—that could be connected. Sharing these details helps us prepare the right tools and speeds up the diagnosis process.

It is also helpful to gather any past plumbing or insurance records before your appointment. This allows us to understand previous work and determine whether the current issue is related. In some situations, we can guide you on questions to discuss with your insurance provider or help clarify what may be covered. Taking these early steps can save time, reduce stress, and ensure a faster resolution once we arrive.

Protect your property and your peace of mind—trust Master Repair Plumbing for professional leak detection and repair in Fort Worth, TX.

Signs You Might Have a Hidden Leak

Leaks are not always immediately visible.

Watch for these signs:

  • Sudden increases in your water bill
  • Damp patches on floors, ceilings, or walls
  • The sound of running water when fixtures are off
  • Musty or mildew-like odors
  • Cracks forming in flooring or foundations
  • Inconsistent water pressure or lingering damp smells

Even small leaks can lead to significant water loss and long-term damage. If you notice any of these indicators, it is wise to schedule a professional inspection.

Some homeowners first recognize an issue when water bills rise over time without any change in usage. Others notice subtle changes like discoloration on ceilings, sticking doors, or grout that remains damp. While easy to overlook, these signs often point to hidden moisture. Addressing them early can help prevent more extensive repairs to walls, flooring, or cabinetry.

For rental property owners or managers, creating a checklist of leak warning signs for tenants can be beneficial. Encouraging prompt reporting of changes in water pressure, temperature, or unusual sounds allows for faster intervention. We can also help establish simple guidelines for handling these situations, ensuring small issues are resolved before affecting multiple units.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Long Does Professional Leak Detection Usually Take?

White lines icon inside a black square on a transparent background.
Most inspections are finished within a few hours, depending on how complex the plumbing system is and how many areas need to be evaluated. Simple leaks in exposed piping can often be identified quickly, while slab leaks or issues in multi-level properties may take longer due to the need for detailed testing and verification. When scheduling your appointment, we provide a clear time estimate so you can plan accordingly.

Will Leak Detection Damage My Walls Or Floors?

White lines icon inside a black square on a transparent background.
The majority of our diagnostic methods are noninvasive, relying on tools like acoustic listening equipment, pressure testing, and thermal imaging to locate leaks without opening up walls or flooring. If access becomes necessary for repairs, we clearly explain the exact location and reason beforehand, and keep any openings as minimal and controlled as possible. This helps limit additional repair work once the plumbing issue is resolved.

Can I Wait To Repair A Minor Leak If It Is Not Causing Visible Damage?

Postponing repairs often allows moisture to spread into surrounding materials, making the problem harder and more expensive to fix. Even a small leak can increase water bills, damage surfaces, and contribute to gradual structural movement over time. Fixing the issue early helps keep the repair simple and prevents it from turning into a more extensive restoration project later.

He was able to come out the same day we called!

"I just took a nice long shower in our bathroom that recently had a stopped sewer line, and wanted to thank Mike at Master Repair for his hard work. Fortunately, he was able to come out the same day we called! The stoppage ended up being 100' from the city sewer cleanout, and it took some back and forth with a camera and cable to clear it. But Mike was tenacious and patient. Plus, he was such a nice guy! He even gave us an estimate for the sewer line replacement we'll need eventually (old clay pipe + tree roots, sigh). He says he doesn't read these, but I hope someone else in the office passes the message along."

Quick & competent!

" Quick & Competent! When my home insurance adjuster learned I used Master he replied 'Oh! Master Plumbing! Did someone refer you? They are the best around and who I use personally at my own home.' That spoke volumes to me and it's good to now have a plumber on my list of trusted service companies. "

Our repair was done in two hours

"We called Master Repair out to fix a leak we had in the wall between our house and our outside faucet. They let us know when they were coming and they showed up 15 minutes early. They were very professional and explained each step they went through. They left to get a part but came back quickly and our repair was done in two hours. I was very pleased that they cleaned up the area and except for the water you couldn't even tell they had been there. The price was extremely affordable and I have called them to return and take care of a smaller problem inside. I would highly recommend them for their professionalism and cost."

Ultimately saved me thousands

" Chad from Master Repair Plumbing is the man. I had another plumbing company come out to take a look at a leak that was coming out of the exterior of my house below the kitchen sink between the slab and the bricks. This company said it was a leak in the slab and quoted me $10k to jackhammer through and make the repair after charging me a super expensive diagnosis fee. My insurance thought that quote was high for that job so they connected me to Master Repair Plumbing for a second opinion. Chad came out and quickly diagnosed that the problem was a leak *above* the slab and made the repair on the spot for the same amount as the first company's diagnosis fee(which was entirely coincidental). He also told me that if I did actually have the leak in the slab where the first company thought it was, Master Repair Plumbing would've charged less than HALF of what the first company was going to charge. I asked the first company for a refund and they wanted to send their people back out again because they had a hard time believing the fix was that simple. So I scheduled Chad specifically to come out at the same time they were coming out to have everyone on the same page. Chad performed a static water test in front of the other company at my house, explained how he found the problem, and proved how they had misdiagnosed the problem which ultimately saved me thousands. The other company admitted their error and I'm getting a refund for their expensive misdiagnosis fee. If you have a slab leak, want someone to explain in detail what they're seeing, show you, prove it with a static water test, AND not be afraid to come out again to back up their work in front of another company, give your business to Master Repair Plumbing. They are honest and won't gouge you. "

You are in good hands with this company!

" We called several companies for a slab leak problem with our hot water line. We decided to use Master Repair Plumbing due to reasonable prices and their ability to quickly assess and diagnose the problem. They came the next day and worked efficiently to get to the pipe under the floor and repair it. Jack and his team are experts! They understood how we needed to get this fixed as quickly as possible. Being without hot water for several days while getting estimates from different companies was no fun! Thank you Jack and team for getting this done! If you have a plumbing issue, you are in good hands with this company! "
